After working over a decade in the wedding and event design industry and assisting countless brides and grooms to tie the knot, owner Heather Kocevar was always looking for ways to make wedding planning easier for her clients. Multiple brides began voicing their concerns about coming up with wedding party gifts and how stressful it was finding just the right gift for the right person. What her clients really wanted – and what didn’t exist – was a place where brides and grooms could curate their own gift boxes with specialty and handmade items to surprise their wedding party participants. It was then that Heather knew she had found her calling. With two kids under the age of 7 and a supportive husband, gifting was always something in her repertoire. Birthdays, holidays, weddings, anniversaries…any excuse to search for a thoughtful present and make it as pretty as possible was Heather’s forte.
After researching countless vendors, craftsmen and artisans, testing multiple products, and getting to know the stories of the designers, the perfect gifts were selected and Surprise Box was born. Our Surprise Designers team is one-of-a-kind and their handmade and artful creations are truly some of the best available on the market.
When you buy a Surprise Box, you support small businesses around the country…you invest in passion…you empower artisans…you keep the joy of creating things by hand alive. And by golly, you just get a really great gift!
Surprise Box is currently partnered with Wellspring Living. In our effort to support local and small businesses, we have chosen an Atlanta based organization with a strong and powerful mission. Wellspring Living is a haven for sex trafficking survivors. They meet the needs of women ages 12 and up who are “at risk” or have survived this trauma and are in need of help and restoration. Their vast array of programs include housing, trauma therapy, education, life skills, and career readiness training.
